Day 8

We are applying for a home loan! Lots happened last weekend, and we are putting a bid on a HUD house close to Washburn. I am working on the loan through Envista. However, when I tried online I had a system error. I will need to go in this afternoon to complete paperwork.

Also, listening to the correct recordings from the Little House (LH) trip.

Finally, it hit me: the two books I am carrying around are ekphrastic poetry.

As I had to cancel with Barbara because of the loan, to go to Gage Park for writing. It is rainy today, though.

I have a lot in the LH essay that needs editing. That will be the pain, but I know voice to text is the best way for me to get writing done. It will be a twenty page essay.

Day 7

Friday afternoon fell apart with the need to get home.

As I am waiting for the van to get checked, I am at work at Starbucks getting things done.

Before, I met with Cally Krallman today for a collaboration--an ekphrastic project. I emailed her with possible times to pick up her paitnings, leave her my books, and shared prairie poetry with her.

I worked on three poems: one on one of her pantings "A Walk in the Park," and two on the Our 1990's project.

I updated the Psychology of Poetics document. Requested three Gary Lachman books via interlibrary loan.

I (sadly) watched Hollow Man for my Venom and Predator essay. Took more notes for the essay, to relive what I must have watched for my birthday in 2000.

For Woodley, I finalized editing Andres Rodriguez's book and ordered copies.  

I worked a little on the LH essay, leading to the Independence, Kansas section.

Need to do:

I had the wrong recordings, so I will need to listen to recordings of my discussions for LH.

Work on the VatP essay during these releases:
September 14: The Predator is released
October 5: Venom is released

Days 5 and 6

Yesterday, I laid out what is a second poem to the Our 1990s series.

This morning, I worked three hours on the Little House essay which grows larger by the moment. So much to include, but I went through a couple of books to add some of the details and research. I am using a Sarah Smarsh approach to story telling, not citing per se, but including as books I have consulted at the end of the essay.

This afternoon, I will listen to recordings of my discussions for LH, and watch Hollow Man for my Venom and Predator essay.

Days 3 and 4

After meeting with Barbara yesterday we decided to meet at Gage Park this coming Tuesday. We are going to do a Plein Air and sit together near the pond by the Rose Garden. She's going to take sketches and I'm going to do the immersion writing with a women centered approach drawing on archetypes in Mythos. I have noticed something happening every morning I wake up which is I'm inspired to write a few lines down which lead to a poem. I am writing a series of 1990s poems beginning with a response to one of Kevin's poems. Today I wrote my second one. As part of this I will need to free watch the movie singles.

Day 2

I am putting the Psych of Poetics on hold for now. I will need to approach it with several implementation steps:

• syllabus
• semester plan day by day
• pdf scans at office

I will need to add Ronda's visit, plans for the film, workshop discussions, etc. I emailed her today.

I also emailed MMLA of the panels I will be coordinating.


I worked on Little House, the Venom and the Predator essay, and look at pulling together Beyond. I will need to go through my notes from my journal to type them up.

Part of the Venom essay depended on revisting Hollow Man (2000) which I found on Vudu.
